Assistance for Quality Certification

Key Features

• Support for quality certification fees and required testing equipment – Subsidy covers part of the certification expense and cost of testing equipment needed for certification.
   
• Manufacturing MSMEs eligible – Applies to Micro, Small & Medium manufacturing enterprises (registered under Udyam/MSME) in Gujarat.
   
• Ceiling of assistance & reimbursement basis – Assistance is up to 50% of cost (or as per approved guideline) subject to a maximum cap of ₹10 lakh per enterprise.
   
• Timing condition & new scheme period – The enterprise must obtain the certification, incur eligible expenditure, and apply within specified timeline (often within one year of certification) after the scheme’s operative start date.
   
• Exclusions and conditions – Equipment purchased after the certificate date may not be eligible; renewal charges of certifications may not be covered; application must be within time-limit.

Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply

• Registered Micro, Small, or Medium Enterprises in Gujarat engaged in manufacturing or eligible service activities.
• Units having valid Udyam Registration and located within the State of Gujarat.
• Enterprises that have obtained or are in the process of obtaining national/international certification during the operative period.
• Expenses should relate to certifications obtained from approved agencies such as BIS, BEE, ISO, WHO, CE, NABL, NABCB, etc.

Who Cannot Apply

• Units not registered under Udyam/MSME registration.
• Traders, wholesalers, or purely commercial establishments.
• Units that have already availed similar subsidy for the same certification under any other Central or State scheme.
• Enterprises whose certification body is not accredited by national or international boards like NABCB or IAF.

• Udyam/MSME registration certificate
• Copy of quality certificate (ISO/BIS/CE/WHO-GMP etc.)
• Invoice and payment proof for certification and consultant fees
• Proof of purchase for testing/calibration equipment (if applicable)
• Accreditation certificate of certifying agency
• Chartered Accountant (CA) certificate of expenditure
• Bank account details for reimbursement transfer

Option 2: Government Online Portal

1. Visit the official portal of the MSME & Co-operation Department, Government of Gujarat
2. Register your unit with valid Udyam/MSME credentials.
3. Navigate to “Assistance for Quality Certification” under the MSME schemes section.
4. Fill in details of certification, certifying body, expenses incurred, and equipment purchased (if applicable).
5. Upload invoices, certification copy, and proof of payment.
6. Submit the application within one year of incurring expenditure or obtaining the certificate, whichever is later.
7. After scrutiny, the reimbursement amount is transferred directly to the enterprise’s bank account.

Option 3: Apply via District Industries Centre (DIC)

1. Visit the DIC in your district for assistance.
2. Submit application form, proof of certification, and expense documents.
3. DIC verifies eligibility and forwards to the Directorate of Industries/Commissionerate for approval.
4. Receive sanctioned reimbursement post-verification.
