Banglashree for MSMEs - Subsidy for Patent Registration (PRS) is a Government of West Bengal incentive under the Department of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and Textiles, notified on 22 July 2020, and effective from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2025.
The scheme aims to encourage innovation and intellectual property creation among MSMEs by reimbursing expenses incurred for patent registration. For you as an MSME or startup, this benefit reduces the cost of protecting your innovations and supports technology-driven growth.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Micro, Small or Medium Enterprise (manufacturing sector)
- Must be located in West Bengal
- Must have Udyam / Udyog Aadhaar Registration
- Patent must be related to the approved project
- Project must be approved by competent authority
- Must comply with scheme conditions and operational guidelines
Additional conditions:
- Enterprise must have commenced production within scheme period
- Proper documentation of patent expenses required

- Non-manufacturing enterprises
- Unapproved projects
- Incomplete or unverifiable patent documentation
