The programme is all about motivating and training youth, women, SC/ST, differently-abled, ex-serviceman, or aspiring entrepreneurs from a BPL background. Through hands-on workshops and expert-led sessions, you get practical knowledge and industry exposure to set up and grow your MSME.
Objectives of ESDP
- Make you aware of entrepreneurship as a rewarding career option.
- Motivate and train people from all backgrounds, especially SC/ST women, physically handicapped, Ex-servicemen, BPL, and disadvantaged groups.
- Help you develop technical and business skills to think and act like an entrepreneur.

- You can choose from a wide range of programmes, starting from short awareness sessions to advanced skill development workshops.
- At least 40% of Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs) and Entrepreneurship-cum-Skill Development Programmes (E-SDPs) are reserved for women, making the scheme inclusive.
- If you belong to SC, ST, BPL, women, or differently-abled categories, you don’t have to pay any participation fee.
- Programmes are designed with flexible durations, ranging from just 1 day up to 6 weeks, so you can pick what suits your schedule.
- You receive a certificate if you attend at least 80% of the sessions, adding value to your business journey.
- The training covers new-age skills in modern sectors like biotechnology, digital business, and food processing, keeping you updated with industry trends.

Eligibility Criteria for ESDP
Eligibility
You can apply if:
- You are 18 years or older.
- You want to start or grow your own business or self-employment ventures
- You belong to any gender or social background, with special focus on marginalized groups like Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), women, physically handicapped individuals, ex-servicemen, and those below the poverty line (BPL).
- You are ready to commit to the training schedule and participate actively.
- You have the basic educational qualifications to engage with the skill training provided.
- You are a youth or someone attending technical institutions such as ITIs, polytechnics, and business schools, as these institutions foster a skill-oriented environment.
Non-eligibility
You are not eligible if:
- You are not interested in entrepreneurship or self-employment.
- You have already attended the same ESDP module recently.
- You cannot commit to attending at least 80% of the sessions.

- Aadhaar Card (for identification and attendance)
- Educational qualification certificates (if required)
- Caste certificate (for SC/ST/OBC applicants)

How to Apply for the Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP)?
The application process for ESDP is offline, here is what you need to do.
Step 1: Contact your nearest MSME Development Institute or MSME-Technology Centre.
Step 2: Check the latest notifications for available ESDP programmes and their eligibility criteria.
Step 3: Fill out the application form as per the instructions provided by the institute or centre.
