Cash incentive per new job

Up to ₹ 50,000 per male employee & ₹ 60,000 per female employee  in eligible units. 

Example: If your biotech unit in Gujarat hires 10 new female employees and they meet job creation criteria, you may claim 10 × ₹ 60,000 = ₹ 6,00,000.

EPF contribution reimbursement

100% employer’s EPF for each female employee & 75% employer’s EPF for each male employee for defined period. 

Example: Suppose you hire a male employee with monthly basic salary + DA resulting in employer’s EPF contribution ₹ 1,200; you may get 75% → ₹ 900 per month reimbursed .

Additional benefits 

The job creation incentive is in addition to other supports  so your project’s job creation can amplify overall benefits. 

Example: Along with the job incentive you may also avail capital subsidy and interest subsidy under the policy, making your expansion project more viable.

Option 2: Apply directly via Government Portal

  1. Visit the official portal of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat or the Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission website.
  2. Register the unit under the policy as eligible biotech unit, fill out the “Employment Generation Incentive” claim form  and upload required documents .
  3. Submit for approval of the incentive. Once the incremental employment is verified and approved, claim the one-time per-employee incentive and the EPF reimbursement as applicable.
  4. Maintain compliance with employment retention, the required period, and submit periodic returns or audits as applicable to avoid reversal of benefits.

Option 3: Liaise via Nodal Agency / Single Window

  1. Contact the Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission  or the single window helpdesk to understand eligibility thresholds, employment incentive schedule, timelines for claim submission.
  2. Use the nodal facilitation to ensure your unit is properly registered, new hire data is tracked, and claim submission deadlines are met.
  3. Ensure the unit meets its obligations  so that the employment generation incentive benefit is not delayed or forfeited.
