MSME Aghaaz Scheme (J&K Bank)

The MSME Aghaaz Scheme is a credit-scheme launched by Jammu & Kashmir Bank under its broader “Mission Yuva” initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and enterprise creation in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The scheme is targeted at new MSME units in what the bank describes as “Focus & Sunrise” sectors. It offers financial assistance for eligible projects. The benefit to you as an MSME is that you can access bank credit under favourable scheme terms through J&K Bank, potentially with government subvention/interest support.
Key Features
- Focus & Sunrise Sectors: These sectors are identified because they align with J&K’s regional strengths or future growth potential . If your business belongs to one of these sectors you stand higher chance of eligibility.
- Loan type: You can access both capital investment and working capital under this scheme, which is useful if you are setting up a new unit and also need funds for day-to-day operations.
- Borrower domicile & project location: Ensures that beneficiaries are rooted in J&K region and the project contributes to local economy. Even Kashmiri migrants are eligible if their business is in J&K.
- Age limit: Helps encourage youth entrepreneurship .
- Exclusion of negative activities: Ensures the bank avoids certain high-risk or socially undesirable business lines under this scheme.
- Interest subvention & project cost cap: Helps reduce cost of borrowing and limits bank exposure to defined project size - making the scheme manageable for the bank and affordable for new entrepreneurs.
