Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana (MMUY) is a flagship entrepreneurship promotion scheme launched by the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar under the leadership of the Government of Bihar in the year 2021. The scheme is part of the larger Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana initiative. It aims to promote women entrepreneurship in Bihar by providing financial assistance to start new micro and small enterprises.
The purpose of this scheme is to empower women by enabling them to set up their own industrial units in manufacturing and services sectors. Key Features
- Financial Assistance up to ₹10 lakh per unit: You can receive a total project support of ₹10 lakh to establish a new enterprise. This helps in covering machinery, infrastructure, and initial operational expenses.
- 50% Grant Component: Out of the ₹10 lakh, ₹5 lakh is provided as a grant. This amount does not need to be repaid, subject to compliance with scheme conditions.
- 50% Interest-Free Loan: The remaining ₹5 lakh is provided as an interest-free loan, which must be repaid in installments after a specified moratorium period.
- New Units Only: The scheme supports only new businesses. Pre-existing businesses are not eligible under this scheme.
- Entrepreneurship Training: Selected beneficiaries must undergo compulsory training organised by the department to improve business management skills.
