Frequently asked questions

Who implements this scheme?

The scheme is implemented by the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar. District Industries Centres manage application processing, verification, beneficiary selection, and disbursement at the district level under state government supervision.

Is the scheme available outside Bihar?

No. This is a state government scheme applicable only to permanent residents of Bihar belonging to SC/ST categories.

Is the entire ₹10 lakh amount a grant?

No. Only 50% of the approved project cost (maximum ₹5 lakh) is provided as grant. The remaining 50% is given as an interest-free loan that must be repaid.

Can existing businesses apply?

No. The scheme is intended to support establishment of new enterprises. Existing operational units are generally not eligible.

What types of businesses are covered?

Manufacturing, service, and certain industrial activities are eligible as per guidelines issued by the Industries Department. Prohibited activities are excluded as per state norms.

Is training mandatory?

Yes. Selected beneficiaries must complete Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) training before financial assistance is released.
