One Family One Enterprise Scheme - Kerala
The One Family One Enterprise (OFOE) Scheme is implemented by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Kerala under the Government of Kerala. The scheme was launched as part of Kerala’s inclusive industrial development strategy and is operational during the current plan period. The main objective of the scheme is to ensure that at least one enterprise is created in every family, especially among unemployed youth and economically weaker households. The scheme provides financial assistance, training, and handholding support to help families start sustainable micro and small enterprises, thereby generating income and employment at the household level.
Key Features
- One Enterprise Support for One Family: The scheme ensures that only one eligible enterprise from a family is supported, so that benefits reach a larger number of households across Kerala.
- Financial Assistance for New Micro and Small Enterprises: Eligible beneficiaries receive financial support to meet initial setup costs such as machinery purchase, tools, or working capital required to start the enterprise.
- Focus on Unemployed Youth and Economically Weaker Families: Priority is given to families with unemployed members and limited income, helping them move towards self-employment and financial stability.
- Support for Manufacturing, Service, and Trading Activities: The scheme supports a wide range of business activities including small manufacturing units, service enterprises, and permissible trading activities.
- Training, Mentoring, and Handholding Support: Beneficiaries are provided entrepreneurship development training and continuous guidance to help them manage and sustain their enterprises effectively.
- Implemented through District and Local Industry Offices: The scheme is implemented and monitored through District Industries Centres and local industry offices to ensure close support and supervision.
