Electricity Bill Subsidy

20% subsidy on power charges

Eligible IT units receive reimbursement equal to 20% of the electricity consumption charges mentioned in their electricity bill. Taxes, duties, and other charges are excluded while calculating the subsidy.

Maximum Annual Limit

Up to ₹5 lakh per year per unit

Even if the electricity consumption is very high, the subsidy amount cannot exceed ₹5 lakh in a financial year. 
For example, if your annual power charge is ₹30 lakh, the subsidy would normally be ₹6 lakh, but you will receive only ₹5 lakh due to the scheme cap.

The subsidy can be claimed for three years starting from the unit’s commencement of operations or from the policy notification date, whichever occurs later.
