Setting up R&D labs by industry associations

Up to 60% of the project cost (for machinery & equipment) for labs established by industry association with Govt help. 

Example: An industry association sets up a shared R&D lab costing ₹1 crore (machinery & equipment portion). They may get reimbursement of up to ₹60 lakh from the state, subject to eligibility.

Contract/sponsored research work by recognized R&D institution

Up to 50% of project cost (excluding land/building), subject to a maximum ₹50 lakh for the project.

  1. Visit the official Industries Commissionerate, Gujarat or Investor Facilitation Portal.
  2. Register your enterprise or institution under the scheme.
  3. Fill in the online application form for “Assistance for R&D Activities” with project and cost details.
  4. Upload the required supporting documents (listed below).
  5. Submit the application for review by the State Level Empowered Committee.

Option 3: Through the District Industries Centre (DIC)

  1. Contact your nearest DIC for application assistance.
  2. Submit your project report, budget estimates, and research objectives.
  3. DIC forwards the proposal to the Industries Commissionerate for further processing.
