You, as a startup/innovator in Gujarat, can benefit from this scheme run by the Industries & Mines Department, Gujarat under the umbrella of the state’s Gujarat Industrial Policy 2020 The purpose of the scheme is to promote research & development, innovation, and entrepreneurship by providing targeted financial assistance to startups/innovators for prototype development, marketing, incubation, and scaling. The benefit for your business is that you receive seed-funding or grants, monthly sustenance allowance, interest-subsidy on term loans, and other supports which reduce your risk and cost, thereby accelerating your startup growth
Key Features
- Seed-funding/grant support: When you have an innovative idea or startup based in Gujarat, you can apply for seed grant up to a defined maximum (e.g., up to ₹30 lakh) for activities like product development, market/testing, professional services.
- Sustenance allowance: To ease your cash-flow burden in the early phase, you receive monthly stipend (for example up to ₹20,000 per month for one year or higher if women-co-founder) under the scheme.
- Interest subsidy on term-loans: If you avail term loan for your startup, you may get additional interest subsidy compared to standard MSME scheme, thereby reducing borrowing cost and enhancing viability.
- Marketing & acceleration support: The scheme recognises that beyond product development, you may need market entry, acceleration support, professional consultancy. The scheme supports you to participate in accelerators, do marketing/publicity, access mentorship.
- Sector-agnostic eligibility: The scheme does not limit to one industry if you have genuinely innovative ideas you can apply, provided you meet startup/innovation criteria.

Who Can Apply:
- Any individual/group of individuals having an innovative idea/concept, and subsequently registered as a LLP / Partnership / Private Limited Company in Gujarat.
- Start-ups working in Gujarat: having registration, operations in Gujarat and significant base in the state during grant tenure.
- Entities recommended by an approved Nodal Institute as per scheme guidelines.
Who Cannot Apply:
- Start-ups that are beyond 10 years of incorporation or whose turnover in past year exceeds ₹100 crore .
- Entities that have availed the same support under other components for the same expenditure unless explicitly allowed.
- Units outside Gujarat without substantial operations/commitment in Gujarat.

- Certificate of Registration of the start-up.
- Concept/idea note or business plan with innovation details.
- Recommendation letter from Nodal Institute.
- Bank account details of the start-up.
- For Seed Support: Detailed cost estimate, prototype plan, market research costing, CA certificate of cost.
- For Sustenance Allowance: Details of founders, women co-founder proof .
- For Skill Development: Training plan & cost estimate.
- For Acceleration/Marketing: Letter of acceptance in accelerator, marketing plan & cost estimate.
- Declaration that start-up meets scheme criteria .

- Log in/register on the “Startup Gujarat” portal.
- Navigate to the “Scheme for Assistance for Start Ups/Innovation” section.

- On approval, receive sanction letter and claim support as per norms.
