Reimbursement of expense for patent registration

Up to 75% of the eligible cost, or up to ₹ 25,00,000 per applicant/enterprise

Example: If you spend ₹10 lakh on a domestic patent (office fees + attorney fees), you may receive 75% → ₹7.5 lakh reimbursement, subject to cap.

Splits & Attorney-fee caps

  • For domestic patent: attorney fee cap ~₹ 50,000;

  • For international patent filings: cap ~₹ 2,00,000 per country.

  • Disbursement: 50% after publication/notification, 50% after grant.

Example: You apply for a US patent . Your attorney fee = ₹1.8 lakh . The scheme reimburses 75% of eligible cost  up to cap. You receive 50% when the application is published, and the remaining when you get the grant certificate.

Equipment or Development costs

Some schemes specify that equipment used in developing the patented innovation may also be part of eligible cost.
