Uttarakhand Tourism Entrepreneur Promotion Scheme - 2024
Uttarakhand Tourism Entrepreneur Promotion Scheme – 2024 is a Government of Uttarakhand scheme implemented through the Tourism Department, notified on 30 August 2024, and aligned with the Tourism Policy 2023 (ongoing implementation period).
The scheme aims to promote tourism-based entrepreneurship across the state by encouraging investment in tourism infrastructure, generating local employment, and strengthening rural and remote economies. For you as an MSME or startup, this scheme helps reduce project cost through subsidies, interest support, and policy incentives while enabling easier entry into the tourism sector.
Key Features
- Tourism infrastructure development: The scheme promotes establishment of hotels, resorts, camps, ropeways, wellness centres, and other tourism units across Uttarakhand.
- District-based incentive structure: The state is divided into Category A, B, and C districts, with higher incentives for businesses set up in remote and less-developed areas.
- Capital subsidy support: Financial assistance is provided on fixed capital investment, encouraging MSMEs to invest in tourism projects.
- Interest subsidy on loans: Reduction in loan burden through reimbursement of a portion of interest on term loans.
- Stamp duty exemption: Significant reduction in land registration cost for tourism projects.
- Eco-tourism and sustainability focus: Encourages environmentally responsible tourism and development practices.
- Marketing and promotion support: Assistance for participation in tourism fairs, branding, and promotion activities.
