The Uttar Pradesh Electronics Manufacturing Policy 2020 was notified by the Government of Uttar Pradesh through its Department of IT & Electronics and the nodal agency U.P. Electronics Corporation Ltd. (UPELC). The policy aims to transform the state into a hub for electronics manufacturing by offering fiscal and non-fiscal incentives for units engaged in manufacturing electronics hardware, components, repair/rehabilitation, R&D and allied services. Key Features

Eligibility Criteria
Who can apply:
- New or expansion units in the ESDM sector (electronics hardware manufacturing, system design, components etc.) under the UP Electronics Manufacturing Policy 2020.
- Units must incur costs for a successful patent application (domestic or international) and get the patent awarded.
Who cannot apply:
- Units not registered/approved under the 2020 policy.
- Patent applications not yet awarded (i.e., only filed but not granted).
- Units outside Uttar Pradesh or outside the defined ESDM scope.
- Costs exceeding the reimbursement cap or not properly documented
Documents Required
- Unit registration/approval letter under the UP Electronics Manufacturing Policy 2020.
- Certificate of patent awarded (domestic or international).
- Receipts/invoices of patent filing cost (actual cost incurred) clearly showing amount.
- Company/firm registration (Udyam/MSME or other), PAN, GST (if applicable).
- Proof of location in Uttar Pradesh and compliance with policy-eligibility.
- Bank details for reimbursement, and any other attachments as required by nodal agency.

Option 2: Online Application via State Nodal Agency Portal
- Register the ESDM unit under the UP Electronics Manufacturing Policy 2020 via the official portal of Uttar Pradesh Electronics Corporation Ltd (UPELC) or other nodal agency. Invest UP
- Submit application for patent cost reimbursement under the “Patent Filing” incentive clause. Include: invoice/receipt of patent filing cost, patent award certificate, unit registration, etc.
- After verification by nodal agency and unit fulfilment of policy criteria, reimbursement is released.
