Mukhya Mantri Gramodyog Rojgar Yojana (MMGRY)
The Mukhyamantri Gramodyog Rojgar Yojana (MMGRY) is run by the Government of Uttar Pradesh via the Uttar Pradesh Khadi & Gramodyog Board under the rural/gram-industry (village industries) segment. The scheme is designed to promote rural enterprise, reduce educated youth unemployment in rural areas, and enable self-employment in village or Gramodyog sectors. It supports setting up small rural enterprises/units in the manufactured or service sectors. Under the scheme, eligible rural entrepreneurs can get financial assistance (via bank-linked loan) up to ₹ 10 lakh (as many sources state) to establish their unit. The purpose is to discourage migration of rural youth to cities, provide employment in villages, and strengthen the gram-industry ecosystem. Your business (if you are from a rural area in UP) can benefit by starting a unit under this scheme with assisted finance, lower interest costs, and priority for rural/gramodyog activity.
Key Features
- Loan support up to ₹ 10 lakh via banks/Khadi Board: The scheme states that rural entrepreneurs (gramodyog units) are eligible for bank-loan finance up to ₹ 10 lakh (project cost) under the scheme.
