National event participation

Up to ₹ 50,000 reimbursement

Example: If your GOI-registered UP startup participates in a national startup expo and spends ₹ 45,000 on registration, travel and display, you can claim reimbursement of ₹ 45,000 (within the ₹ 50,000 cap).

International event participation

Up to ₹ 1,00,000 reimbursement

Example: If your startup attends an overseas technology fair and spends ₹ 90,000, you can claim up to ₹ 90,000 (since it’s below the ₹ 1,00,000 cap). If you spent ₹ 1,20,000 you can claim only ₹ 1,00,000.

Special category additional benefit

Additional 50% of the above reimbursement

Example: If you qualify under special category (e.g., woman co-founder >26%), for a national event you could get ₹ 50,000 + 50% of ₹ 50,000 = ₹ 75,000 (subject to policy interpretation and nodal approval).

Option 2: Apply via UP Startup Portal

  1. Visit the official portal for Startups in Uttar Pradesh (StartInUP).
  2. Log in/register as a startup (incorporated in UP and Startup India-registered).
  3. Navigate to the “Incentives” section → “Event Participation Support”.
  4. Fill out the online application, attach required documents: event registration/invitation, proof of participation, cost receipts, travel and accommodation invoices (if applicable).
  5. Submit and await verification by the Policy Implementation Unit (PIU) or Nodal Agency.

Option 3: Apply via Incubator / Startup Nodal Agency

  1. If your startup is associated with a recognised incubator in UP, you may apply via the incubator’s portal or with their assistance.
  2. The incubator forwards your claim to the PIU.
  3. After approval, reimbursement is credited directly into the startup’s bank account.
